Staying with a Host Family

LTS host families are all carefully selected to offer the best possible home stay experience to our course participants. They are either active professionals in the age range 45-60, or recently retired. In nearly all cases, their children have already left home to study or work.  We have known most of our host families for many years. They are all very experienced at welcoming professional people from other countries into their homes, and enriching their guests’ stay with information about Bath and the UK, as well as with extra social activities.

Host family accommodation consists of a private room with a single or double bed, a desk and chair for working, and in many cases an en-suite or private bathroom. Sometimes the guest room and bathroom occupy a separate floor, giving complete privacy to the guest. All our host families are within walking distance of LTS, ranging from 5 to 30 minutes. In cases of bad weather, many families are more than happy to give their guests a lift in the morning.

Once a course has been booked, we send an accommodation questionnaire to each

course participant to identify their individual needs and expectations regarding their stay. We then select a family that matches the requirements as closely as possible. The course participant will then receive all contact details and a host family profile. We ask all course participants to contact their host family to introduce themselves and say when they expect to arrive in Bath.
