All Year

Individual Tuition

LTS Levels 1 to 4+/CEF Levels A2 to C1

Individual Tuition is one of our most popular courses. It maximises the learning experience, as it provides the opportunity to focus on the precise needs of the client. It offers complete flexibility in course content, language levels, length of course, location and dates. There are two versions of Individual Tuition: Intensive Plus (6 hours of training per day) and Intensive (5 hours per day plus individual study tasks). Clients benefit from at least an extra 10 hours of contact per week with trainers at coffee breaks, lunch and social evenings.

Combination Courses

LTS Levels 2+ to 4+/CEF Levels B1 to C1

An increasing number of our clients are choosing Combination Courses. These provide the opportunity to spend part of the week working on individual needs. The rest of the time is spent working in small group sessions to develop communication skills for meetings, negotiations, problem solving or conference calls. A one-week course consists of 15 hours of individual tuition and 15 hours of group work. Combination Courses are available most weeks of the year. Contact us for details.

Professional English

LTS Levels 2+ to 3+/CEF Levels B1 to B2


The Professional English courses are for people who use English for meetings, presentations, telephoning, conference calls and socialising, and who need to improve their fluency, accuracy, confidence and communication skills. The courses are run at four different levels, so that participants can work in the most suitable group for their ability and needs. The group size ranges from 2 to 6, but is rarely more than 4. These courses run for two weeks, but clients may choose to attend for one week only. Contact us for details.

Effective International Communication

LTS Levels 3+ to 4+/CEF Levels B2 to C1

This course is aimed at clients with a higher level of English than the Professional English courses. The focus is on developing confidence and precision particularly when working under pressure. Clients will also develop an appropriate communication style to achieve a greater impact when working internationally. The seminar is highly interactive. Through discussion, team exercises and the use of authentic business communication situations (based on the client's own experience and knowledge), the group is continuously involved in learning and practising new skills. The group size ranges from 2 to 6.

Working in International Teams

LTS Levels 4 and above/CEF Levels C1 and above

The main focus of this course is on working across cultures, particularly on developing language skills and strategies for communicating more effectively in international teams. It will help clients recognise how and when to use a range of techniques for effective cross-cultural communication The course is highly interactive and deals with issues such as problem solving, decision making and negotiating.

Specialised Courses


Our range of specialised courses enable our clients to work in groups from the same business and professional area. A particular feature of these courses is the mix of language, communication skills and professional content. This, together with the opportunity to exchange ideas and network with professional counterparts, gives these courses considerable added value. Group sizes range from 2 to 6.



English for Executive Assistants

LTS Levels 3 to 4/ CEF Levels B2 to C1


This course is aimed at Executive Assistants, as well as senior PAs and Executive Secretaries. The objectives of this course are to develop accuracy, style and confidence in face-to-face contact, telephoning and conference calls and written communication particularly when dealing with international clients and colleagues. The group size ranges from 2 to 6, but is rarely more than 4.

English for Lawyers

LTS Levels 3 to 4/CEF levels B2 to C1


The objectives of this course are to improve language and communication skills for working with clients and lawyers from other countries. As well as developing face-to-face communication, clients will extend their legal and business vocabulary and develop drafting skills for all legal documents. The course can also be customised to meet specific client needs and is often run on an in-house basis. The lead trainer for the course is a qualified lawyer who practised commercial law for many years.

Human Resources in English

LTS Levels 3 to 4/CEF Levels B2 to C1


The aim of this course is to improve specific vocabulary and communication skills in key areas of employee relations and human resources, such as recruitment, training and development, appraisal systems, and compensation and benefits. A particular feature of this course is the opportunity for participants to exchange experience with counterparts from other companies and countries. The course can also be customised to meet specific client needs and can be run on an in-house basis.

Finance and Accounting in English

LTS Levels 3 to 4/CEF Levels B2 to C2


This course aims to improve specific vocabulary and communication skills in the fields of finance and accounting. It covers topics such as company accounts, credit control, tax, cash flow and treasury management. Each course is customised to fit the specific interests of the participants.

Client Specific Courses


Closed Group courses

All levels

These courses are designed for groups from the same organisation. The course content, dates and location of the courses are completely flexible and depend on the exact needs and objectives of the participants. Recent courses have been run in Bath and at clients' locations for MPs from the Swedish Parliament, doctors from the Paris Hospital Authority and German Public Relations specialists.



Business Communication Skills courses

LTS Levels 3 to 5/CEF Levels B2 to C2


These courses cover topics such as International Meetings, Negotiating Internationally, Effective Presentations, Report Writing and Legal Drafting. Each course is adapted to the client's business area and can be run at a time and venue of a client's choice.  Recent courses have been for Danish bankers, lawyers from the Bank of Latvia, German car industry executives, German mobile phone executives and Swiss project engineers.



Intercultural Communication

LTS Levels  3+ to 5/CEF levels B2 to C2

These courses are aimed at people who work in international teams or working groups, or who are working with partners from a specific culture.  They are designed to improve awareness and skills for working internationally.  Each course is tailored to the precise needs of the client, and usually lasts one or two days.  They are normally run at a client's training facility.  Recent courses have been held in worldwide locations for working groups from the SkyTeam airline alliance, for managers from a German car components supplier and for managers from a British insurance company offshoring some of its activities to India.





New Service


Executive Coaching

LTS Level 4 and above/CEF Level C1 and above

An increasing number of our clients have needs that go well beyond English language training. They need to improve in areas such as people management, motivating and giving feedback, and leadership skills in an international context. They may also have only a few days to spare for such coaching. The senior LTS trainers, with their training and extensive experience in executive intercultural coaching, are pleased to offer this new service to our clients.

Accommodation in Bath

For courses in Bath, we can arrange accommodation with host families of professional status, or in a selection of hotels. For those who would like more independence, we can also arrange accommodation in furnished apartments.

Host Family Accommodation: €310 per week including breakfast and dinner
Hotel Accommodation: €80 - €150 per night including breakfast
